Grill Bar Support

A while back I asked about this piece and someone on here offered me one if I emailed them...well I never heard back so now I'm looking for info about this piece. Here is a pic with a red arrow pointing to the piece i need...

I would just as soon make one if someone would be able to give me some dimensions. I need a very good picture of one of these preferably not on a truck. Any dimensions would help. If you have one in good condition let me know if you'd consider selling it.

Thanks!!

That peice is spot welded to each grille bar except for the top bar (top bar is removeable). Is your grille missing that support completely or was it hacked off at the top?

I have a couple of loose grilles and may be able to make a pattern if it's not too hard to reach in the crevices.

It was totally missing when I got the truck. A pattern would be great if possible. Don't go to too much trouble. Thanks Ilya!

Wayne, as you can see mine is in less than pristine condition, but I did my best to take some pics that may help some. Fixing it is somewhere on my to do list, LOL.

Jim, that would be a perfect piece to trace since it has already been removed.

Thanks Jim. I'll get those pics on a thumb drive when I'm back at a computer. If you could measure an exact dimension from one grill bar mounting surface to the next grill bar mounting surface I think I can take it from there. That dimension sets the distance the bars are spaced. Great pics!

Many thanks Jim!!! Man you don't play around. I already got the tracing. Thank you sir. I'll post some pics once I get it made. I'll have to look at my truck and see where that bolt hole is "supposed" to go. Haven't looked good but I don't remember seeing anywhere under there that a grill support would bolt to.

After assembling mine, I have to ask if anyone thinks it is really necessary to have it in there. It is really flimsy, especially compared to the grill bars. Just seems like it is hanging on. Even where it bolts to the lower gravel pan, I don't see it providing any real support. I would think you could leave it off without compromising anything.

The one I make won't be flimsy I need a support on mine to get the bars exactly even.

No trouble at all, but just so you know there is a bolt hole on each end of it.
