I started to work on the bed of my 76, F100, I6 300, LWB, 2wd, taking care of the rust areas, replace the wood, etc. Took the bed off and on the out side of the front panel of the bed there was a aluminum tag with this on it,
F10BRC31893 1-50F
BC 133 BDY 3 WDE
Z CUS
SE K AFT
Any help decoding the tag would be appreciated, Thanks.
That's often referred to as a "buck tag". These were used by the assembly line workers to check the options and equipment for the truck.
Some trucks had them, some didn't. Sometimes it's mounted to the firewall.
Unlike the warranty plate (VIN plate) on the driver's door, there isn't a lot of info available to decode the buck tag. Some of its obvious (VIN number) others, not so much. The "133" is the wheelbase.
