Well, after six months of staring at it, and a month of frantically working, my 84 F-250 is back on the road. So far, I have done about a 6" lift on it, swapped out the worn out TTB front end for a 77 straight axle, and built a c6 automatic for it. It's still running the 300-6 that was in it last year. I still have the factory four speed in it, but it's getting old. I made a lot of the parts for the suspension, such as the front axle perches, shock mounts, and modified the steering gear. I use the stock steering box, but just tonight installed a center link and drag link for a 78 F-150 4x4. I had to cut and weld the center link, as it was too long. I replaced the floors, cab corners, grill (with one from an 80), and a whole other laundry list of rusty sheetmetal. I still have a lot left, such as rear body mounts, rear shock mounts, and paint. Can't forget the big tires- it's still running around on stock-sized 9.5R16.5 tires. I am hoping to fit 35x12.50R16's under it by late this summer, which should fit with minor fender trimming.
There are so many different years of parts in this thing, along with homemade stuff, that the name has officially been changed from The Beast. It is now The Mutt.
On the plus side, if anybody needs info on a straight axle swap and lift for their F-250/350, let me know!
