identify part?

Hey as I was checking vacuum hoses I noticed a small cylinder shaped part under my hood, its on the passenger side, just an inch or so from the fender, all the way back against the firewall, right under the hood, on top of the ac/heat, it looked like it used to have a small hose coming from it but is broken off. It also looks like its connected to a little bracket type thing. What in the world is this? I dont see any loose hoses or anything. Just very curious!

Full functions of your A/C system...... It closes off the outside air on max A/C...

Not the only blowing on high would be a "speed" resistor or switch problem..

This vacuum motor closes a door in the air handler box that is normally open ONLY when the MAX air selection (all the way to the left on switch)

That causes recirculation of the air in the cab, normally you are cooling/heating outside air, with it in this position you are recooling the air already in the cab.
