Transmission question
Is there anyway to know what transmission you have in the truck? I didnt buy the truck new, so I have no clue if its been rebuilt, changed, or upgraded.

There is or should be a tag on the drivers side?

If you have a clutch pedal then it is a manual transmission. If there isn't a clutch pedal then it is an automatic. The shift handle on the floor vs. the column is another dead giveaway.
If it is an automatic it is a 4R100. If it is a manual it is a ZF6.

I *WAS* being gentle! You should see when I'm not. The the question was so vague I thought it needed some definition.

Sorry Mark. Im asking if theres any definitive markings or anything to find out if the transmission is stock? Something different between the HD transmission, JW, ect. Like I said, I didnt buy it new, so wondering if its ever been rebuilt, swapped, or something.

Tugly, if he still has the orig tranny, it probably wouldn't be an "HD" version. Got p/n's for non-HD trannys??

I don't have that handy. I had the HD info in a folder, because of my research before buying one.

What about looking at the color of the TC? Not sure what stock color is, but I've read threads where people commented on the color being different.
