Another delay-wiper question.

I'm adding the variable-speed wiper switch and module to my '66 with one-speed wipers. It doesn't look like the plug-and-play installation that some have described. It isn't clear which wire should go where. The parts have these wires:
Single speed motor: Orange/black, black, green.
(New)two-speed motor: red, white, black, blue.
Module plug: white/purple, dk blue/orange, blk/grn, red, blk/red, white, blk/white. The variable switch includes a washer switch so I guess a couple wires aren't needed.
Can anyone tell me how to hook this up?
TIA, Eric

Replace your one speed motor with the two speed; but you will have to use the short connecting arm from your one speed and bolt/ clip (can't remember if mine was secured with a nut or clip) it on to your two speed motor; then attach the isolating arm to the short arm. You will have to run a ground wire from the motor to any place you can screw it to cause a ground. Then use the newer wiper switch and plug the pig tails into your harness. The newer switch will be about a 1/4 " long ; you can cut the tip off and reattach the ****.
Hope I didn't confuse you. There's been a thread or so on this upgrade.

Not to argue, I swapped in a 76 motor with arm exchange mentioned on my 66, used delay switch and modual. I am lazy and have yet to shorten the stem for the control button.

It really is a piece o cake.

I haven't shortened the rod either. Just take a pair of nippers to the ground wire.

I'm ok with the mechanical issues John and Mitch, the problem I have is that the new 2-speed motor has four wires, the module has seven, and the colours don't match. Any ideas?

Eric, It's been a while, but I believe the hot and ground wire connect to the motor. The regular 2spd switch wire goes to the front of the dash. The delay is plugged into the switch connection with an additional ground from the module. Like I say it has been more than 10 years so I could have missed something.
