I was running my 11 250 hard yesterday, did 731 miles in one day running highway the entire time with a small trailer 5 to 5500k truck did fantastic. But got home after sunset so didnt notice till this morning i had a very, very small amount of coolent on the ground. looked under the bumper on the driver side just abovet the frame on the corner of the radiator i notice looks to be a very small leak. I have just under 40k on the truck, guess ill take it to the dealer tuesday.
Has anyone had any issues with the coolent system? and if so did ford cover the repair after 36k?

I have 125 000 kms on my 2011 f-250 and no leaks for me so far.
I doubt Ford would repair it free after the 36 000 miles warranty unless you have reported a problem with it before the 36 000 miles. I had an issue with my radio that Ford could not fix, although I had several dealerships try, even replacing the radio and some other electronics. But I had reported the problem before the warranty mileage had passed. So they continued to try to fix the problem well past my warranty mileage. BTW, they never did fix it and the problem continued for several months and then for some reason, now the radio works good and has for about a year. Go figure??
My biggest surprise when the Ford dealerships said "We can't figure out why it is doing it and what the problem is? Then they head mechanic looked right at me and said, "I give up."
I noticed today that it only leaks when the motor is at normal operating temps, if the truck is shut off it does not leak. i think at this point i may just call and talk to my dealer see what they say as far as warrenty goes, if not ill just keep an eye on it and replace it when it becomes a big issue. it is such a small amount of coolent. i noticed about a quarter size amount of coolent sunday morning after running the truck all day long a 70mph on saturday.
No, Radiator is only covered under the 36,000 mile / 3 year bumper to bumper
Maybe if you get right in the dealer may cut you some slack since you are only at 40k. You wait till 50k and its much harder for them to get it covered.
So wait to fix it until it becomes a bigger issue and leaves you on the side of the road??
That way you'll have the tow bill to go along with the repair bill!
The leak is so minimal that it sometimes dosent even leak. I have no plans for any long road trips in the near future, meaning next few months, if it looks to be getting worse in that time ill take it to my friends shop and have a new radiator put in. Not real worried about it at this point. But I am calling my dealer today. I have 38,947 miles on the truck, so if they will work with me great if not ill have my friends shop do the work in the next few months.
