Just got off the phone with a service adviser working on my truck for hard shifting (between 5th and 6th) and a weird radio issue. Turns out the solution to these problems is a re-flash to the transmission control module and the radio/SYNC system, neither of which are covered under my Premium Care warranty (supposedly).
Does this sound right? Has anyone else not had software updates/re-flashes covered?
I wish there was a TSB for these but I can't find one, and I'm not sure it'd help anyway.
Actually, the latest transmission calibration is included in the recent emission recall. So, get that recall done which is free and you'll get the trans flash along with it for free...
I was going to say the same thing. they wont just do flashes for free, warranty or not without a fixing a related problem. I had my truck in for lube service/general maintenance, and wanted the latest flashes, and it cost me $75 for that alone. This isnt "windows update" world. Otherwise everyone and their brother would be stopping in to get updates.

I had the flash done actually, didn't seem to help my shifting issues. Both of these are diagnosed, documented issues by my dealer. Since a transmission issue would affect drivability, I would've assumed it was covered. I would hope they're not just throwing fixes at these problems, but if the flashes don't work I'll be back there asking for my money back faster than they can blink!
Lots of good comments here already. I would PM Crystal if you feel that you are being charged for something that is necessary to resolve a warrantied item.

That's a good idea, and is probably something I'll do since I just got my truck back and the radio issue wasn't fixed at all (despite the re-flash). In addition, there were TSBs for both issues but apparently that didn't make a difference because "there wasn't a physical part attached to the repair, so the warranty doesn't apply here." At $130/hr labor, I really hope they're wrong. It doesn't take two hours to re-flash the transmission and the radio.
I'll definitely being going back to get a refund and have them come up with another solution.
