Radio Clock LCD Gone?

Has anyone else ran into the problem where their radio and clock LCD goes out. Mine disappeared awhile back, and now every once in a while when its cold, it comes back on. The radio/tape/cd still works, you just can't tell what your on. The Ford dealer said that they would have to pull it out and send it away for repair. I decided I needed my money more than I needed to know what channel I was on. Has this happened to anyone else out there and was there a reasonable fix for it. Thanks

There is a guy who has figured this problem out. Only problem is it costs about twenty dollars for the instructions. I paid it and fixed mine over a year ago and it's still working great. Here is the website if you're interested.
