First time I've EVER even looked at FTE site announcements and I found this: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...hboy-club.html
In case any of you are interested in a National Highboy Club, and/or interested in becoming your state's Chapter Leader of such club...
I like the idea of the club, but someone needs to inform the leader on what a highboy actually is. The cover photo on the fb page is an obvious 78 F-250 with the wide frame, no in cab fuel tank, no front cross member seen. etc. Also their website says the highboy is from 1959-1979?!?!
Too many people loose there careers due to Facebook.
That's not a statement about Facebook, that's a statement about what specific people choose to share on Facebook. The reality of it is that most of those people will find a way to screw themselves over anyway, Facebook or not.
I'm not trying to talk people into joining Facebook; I'm just saying it's not this big-brother conspiracy to be scared of, as many people make it out to be. Your experience on the internet, for the most part, is up to you and your own level of responsibility and self control.

Ya like calling in sick to work and then posting on facebook about being out partying or on vacation.

I noticed the post highboy M.Y. cover photo too when I saw the posting. But I thought the club was a cool idea and I'd like to see it take off, personally. Highboys kick butt.
Regarding the in cab fuel tank, I once owned a 76 F250 4x4 with no fuel fill hole in the cab and no tank behind the seat. My current 74 has the in-cab tank. Boy, that thing is stinky and noisy. My 73, the same thing. I personally preferred the 76 and no gas in the cab, but some ***** stole her from me...

Did it have a flat bed? Where was the tank?
My very first vehicle when I was 15 in 82 was my dads Blue 76 F250 high boy. it had the 203 T case with the chain that would jump and slip. with No lock out hubs. It had the tank behind the seat. We called it Sherman
Just Curious.
Thanks for the Link Montana, the second truck down is the same original color of my '65. but it is now half way Michigan State Trooper Blue. Im thinking about updating the axles from a 93 F350 4wd. the original axles are kinda skinny and have the closed knuckles. with a Factory No-Spin Diff in the rear and 4.56 gears. I think it could pull over a house in low range. used to have a 352 w/ a 3sp column, then I put a 390 and now it's a 460 w NP435. really buzzes at 55 with those gears.
