Flashing Theft light.
2001 excursion v10 109k...When vehicle is started red theft light flashes fast, put vehicle in gear and start driving the light continues to flash, after afew miles theft light goes off..Any ideas that would cause this? using a factory ford key by the way..

It may be losing the reading of the key. If you have another key, try to reprogram it and see if that stops it. I can't imagine it would let the engine be started and put into gear if it didn't somewhat recognize the key.
