Theft Warning Light
I Have a 97 Explorer. A Theft warning light came on twice today. I bought the truck used and don't have a owners mannual. As far as I know it also doesn't have remote key less entry. Can anyone tell what this light means.

Its called the Passive Anit-Theft System (PATS) which has a chip in the head of the key and won't let the engine start unless you have the correct key. The "theft" light on the dash should blink at all times when the engine is off and the key is not in the ignition. At least thats how it is on my 02 F150, it should be the same. Hope that helps.
