Theft warning light
Father-in-laws new to him 99 explorer keeps showing that light.
Bought it at an auction and could not start it with the key provided.
The key does open the doors though.
Shop put new key,transponder in.
The scan they did showed wrong key and anti-theft activated.
Shop did not print out the codes.
Vehicle does start with the new key.
Anything to check for?

Are you only seeing the light flash when the car is sitting, but not when starting the vehicle or as driving? It is normal for the light to flash about once per second when the vehicle is not running.
