very violent studder upon acceleration
I think I have fixed the problem! Truck is running actually drove it to workthis morning 30 minute drive.
Installed new distributor with the new Hall-Effect sensor, rotorbutton, and distributor cap. The truck crankup and ran for an hour until I cut it off. It did have a small skip ever so often was the only thing Inoticed. So I believe even though that wasa new rebuilt distributor it was defective.
So this put me back to my original problem of “When you power brake the truck it starts stuttering as if it werea grounded spark plug wire.” Turnedall lights out in shop and watched under hood while truck was being powerbraked. I saw a very small blue arc comingout from under the spark plug boot every time the truck would studder!<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com

>Even though I installed new wires and plugs when thisproblem first occurred, I returned the wires and purchased new plugs. I first installed the new wires and that didnot fix the arching. So I then installeda new plug in place of the one that was arching. That fixed it the truck is not skipping!<o

>That goes to show even though you get a new part doesn’tmean it can’t be bad!<o
