Vacuum pump/booster problems

My truck is running and moving and all is well but now it's hard to stop. My donor truck was a roll over and the original brake booster was full of some kind of oil I'm guessing from the pump so I left the gas booster on there to see If i could get away with not replacing it well I'm pretty sure that was a bad idea. Will the oil in the original diesel brake booster hurt anything or should it be replaced? My other question is what kind of vacuum does these pumps pull I put my finger over the port and I feel like I'm barely getting anything at idle is that normal or am I looking and a pump and a booster? Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks.

gas and diesel boosters are the same boosters. your vac pump is going out replace the pump first before you replace the booster i am leaning towards just a pump
