Got a question My 92. My wife was on her way home and found she could not stop the brake pedal is very hard leaning towards vacum pump. I guess i am not sure normaly in gaser i would go straight for brake booster what do you think?
Does any of the other vac acc work? Also with the truck running unhook the vac line to the booster. You should have a good pull at that piont. If so then I would say it is the booster.
When you do check it and you have vaccum dont go for the booster right away. if you have vaccum shut the truck off and then pull tha vac line at the booster if you hear a woosh of air id say the booster if not it may just be that little check valve elbow on the booster
How does your heater work? How quick is it to switch from Defrost to floor and back to defrost?
It should move from one to the other quickly, if not then the vacuum pump is tired.
Back some years ago in the Rockies with my camper, the vacuum pump belt blew apart (aged) and the C6 was stuck in 2nd gear, had to manual shift it and had to use both feet and all my weight on the brake pedal to get that thing to slow down going down a hill!
