If you need I have Autoenginuity and a good spair IPR, ICP, and CPS if you need to try to test. I am normally available wed,sat and sun. Have you checked the oil level in the Hpop resivuar after sitting and cold? The oil could possibly be leaking back down? What weight and type of oil are you using. If you pull the valve covers to check the oil spouts, be sure to do the 50c mod and check all the harness pins.
Sorry I posted then didn't reply. I was busy at the office today. The ICP like they said is the one at the front of the drivers side head. Pull the connection loose and see if it is soaked in oil. But leave it unplugged, then start or attempt to start. That is one of the possibilities.
The other is a connection behind the fuel bowl. This connection should be disconnected then check the fuses. I am not certain which fuse it is, but if it is blown, then the fuel heater is probably bad.
Went out to it after school today and turned the key over 3 or 4 times without actually cranking it just to the glow plugs power and see what happens, started on the 2nd try... so I mean I'm going to go through all of those sensors and see whats up, but I think it might be a loose connection or something because the thing is acting however it wants whenever it feels like it. Driving me nuts, worst of all is I have to listen to my dad brag about how his toyota never failed him -.- lol
When you get it running straight and good. And it starts everytime you crank the engine. Then ask him if he wants to have a tug off or a long trip. Where you run 600+ miles to his 300-350.
Might check fuel pressure too. how does it act when you hammer on it. do a search for the hutch mod. might consider doing that if it hasn't been done.
When I hammer on it accelerates smooth with the new fuel filter, but before I changed the fuel filter the old one was all gunked up, accelerated like *****.
Slowly Im bringing her back to running order. I mean I'm still really happy with the truck as it is. It's a Lariat with pretty much a perfect body and undercarriage. Zero rust anywhere. I had it brought up to Chicago (where I live) from an insurance auction down south in Georgia, hasn't seen snow ever. Before this winter I undercoated it because of all the heavy salt usage. Undercoat works like a charm.
