Without pulling the paperwork I think it was around 600 bucks. I got it at the same time I got my other 5th wheel.

I got a good deal on it from what I remember.

It is heavy but I can do it myself.

I think you are confused here. if you have backed up both styles, you would pick the TT for maneuvering. With the hitch so far behind the rear wheel pivot point, backing up a TT is simple compared to a 5th wheel.
The pivot point over the wheels on a 5th wheel, doesn't allow you that added distance to turn so tight.
I also have a slider with mine and moving the pivot point just back a foot makes a big difference in turning. Not close to the extra distance the TT has but still noticeable.
I would still pick a 5th wheel system if starting over again even if it takes a second shot at turning to get into a spot backing up. Kinda like a diesel... Once you've gone there, you never go back!

My 5er is hooked up and we are ready to go this weekend.

Here's a link to my hitch they have some pics.
Companion 5th Fifth Wheel Hitch | B & W Trailer Hitches

With this set up there is one hole in the bed, plus the safety chain hook ups for when using a gooseneck. The only part of the 5er hitch that goes through the bed is the silver square peg, into the same hole the gooseneck ball uses.

Senix and Wyo,

Thanks for the pics of your hitches. I think between the 2, I would lean towards the one Wyo has, one hole that gets covered up instead of 4 holes that don't. Senix, do those holes go straight through, or are they closed ended?

r2,

Of COURSE I don't have them confused! (Seriously?) You can turn a 5 er past 90 degrees when turning, either forward or backing up. Pretty handy in tight spots. A TT at best maybe 45 degrees depending on your specific hitch layout.

slowpoke, the pucks are not too deep. They don't go all the way through.

The underside frame is connected to the pucks if that makes sense.

Slowpoke,
Seriously back.
I'm not an engineer but the physics here is pretty clear.
I guess you have to drive both to understand.
Maybe someone here hasn't????
Just saying...

Slowpoke Slim, if you click the link I have the B&W in my gallery with a bunch of photos of the hitch in the bed of my truck. The hitch comes in 2 pieces and not hard at all to put in and out.

Ok, why don't you just call me a Democrat? Or talk bad about my Mother or something? You have the right to any OPINION you want. You DON'T have the right to be a tool by questioning my intelligence or my honesty. And buddy, you're really starting to be a tool here. I don't appreciate it.

I've driven both, have owned both, have my own opinion on both, and will offer my opinion when asked. That's what we do here. You can do the same, fine with me that you don't agree with mine.

The "seriously" was that you really thought I could confuse one hitch type with the other.

Now before this really turns this thread into a pile, I will wash my hands of you.

Take care, and try to go in peace, I will do the same.

Sorry to the OP, btw.

My original response was never anything but positive. I, however, like to set the record straight for others when I disagree.
No intent to compromise you.
Amen.
