Ok so my excursion died yesterday. The batteries were dead. Just had the alternator and both batteries changed a month ago. I don't think that the mechanic tightened up the belt. How do I find where the tensioner is and tighten it up my self?

The tensioner is automatic so no adjustments are possible or required. I'd check battery and alternator connections to make sure you don't have anything loose. It's possible one of the batteries or the alternator is bad so they will need to be tested. Was the alternator a reman? Are the batteries both new and of the same type?
