Have a 6.0 with 158k which runs great. Deltas seem to run good currently.
I have decided that with the current mileage I dont think I want to do a full "solution" or "bulletproofing" until something goes wrong. The mod that gets reccommended a lot that is low cost and doesnt require pulling everything apart is a coolant filter.
Is it best to do this and filter for a while and then flush ? How frequently does a flush actually plug the oil cooler ?
If things are good for now should I just pass on this ?
"Is it best to do this and filter for a while and then flush ?" Yes
"How frequently does a flush actually plug the oil cooler ?"
When was the last time the fluid change?
"If things are good for now should I just pass on this ?"
I would put the coolant filter in to check the condition of the coolant to see if it is clean or all king of settlement floating in there.
I assume you have some king of guage like scanguage II to monitor oil temp and coolant temp.?
Oh yes, many much consensus. Basically any Extended Life Coolant (ELC) that has a CAT EC-1 rating on the bottle, or stick with the Ford Gold. Lots of threads on the subject.
