Wheel bearing

Ok, First a little background. I am building up a ford 9" to swap into my 90 bronco that I blew the stock 8.8 differential up in. I am jjust about done with the set-up and pressed the axle bearing onto the first shaft and tried installing it, when I realized that I put the bearing on backwards.

Well, the only way that I know of to remove and turn the bearing around involves cracking the retainer ring and pressing it off. Now the problem, I can't find anyone who caries just the retainer ring, or even has a part number for it, without buying the whole set. I got it with a Timken Set 20 but really don't want to spend the 30 + shipping on setup I don't need all of. So far Summit said that if I call Monday that they will call up Timken direct but does anyone else have any other ideas in the mean time?

Thanks for any help.

Which type of 9" axle bearing? Ball bearing with separate seal or tapered roller bearing/seal combination?

Taper roller with separate seal. I did the other one the right way and it goes right together.

Should be available from NAPA, indie autoparts stores. If in L/A area, try Engler Bros. Auto Parts in Santa Monica.

D4AZ-1180-A .. 9" Axle Bearing Retainer-Use with Tapered Roller Bearing / 2 9/32" O.D. x 1 9/16" I.D.

1974/79 misc Ford/Merc Passenger Cars / 1974/79 F100/150 / 1978/79 Bronco.

Ball bearing also used in these vehicles. The retainer is different (2 7/16" O.D. x 1 1/2" I.D.).

That's a Ford part number, NAPA may be able to cross it over to the brands they sell, but if not: 1974/79 9" with tapered roller axle bearing.

Thanks for the help. For anyone looking for this info in the future, using your PN I was able to cross it over to a Timkin number R88128A, witch I found through Summit racing.

Thanks again!
