5.0 cam swap

A buddy of mine spun a rod bearing in his 92 bronco. He bought a 94 with 120k on it for parts. Body is shot on it so we are going to pull the motor for the 92. I was wanting to do some things to help out the little 302 breath better.

Here is my parts list so far:
Oil pump
Timing chain
Shorty headers with dual 2.5" exhaust either with no cats or high flow after market
Comp 35-512-8 cam

Would it also be beneficial to put on 1.7rr in the heads with this cam? Anything else I can do while this thing is out to help this thing out besides swapping gears or to a 351w like I told him?

The 94 will have the better roller cam in it , i would just add 1.7 RR , that with a good exhaust will help ....

Well that'll save me a few hundred bucks. Seeing as we were going to reseal the engine before we put it back in, I was going to put the cam in, but if it'll be about the same as the comp then I'll just leave it.
