The old 5.0l in my 93 F150 has seen better days and it's time to finally get serious about its replacement. The truck has an E4OD 31x10.5 3.55 and 4x4. I mostly use it for chasing parts, going to Menards and towing my car trailer.
I have a 94 5.8l sitting on the engine stand that I plan on freshening up and doing a roller cam conversation. Other than that it will be fairly stock for now. Down the road possibly intake and heads. I also have everything to convert the truck from SD to MAF just haven't found the time to do it. Now for the cam I am considering a Comp Cams 35-308-08. Does anyone have any input on that cam or or a better suggestion.
That's a nice cam for a 5.8, the motor could really use better heads and intake but even without that you'll have a big power upgrade over the 5.0. My truck was 3 seconds faster 0-60 with a similarly equipped 5.8 in it compared to the 5.0 it has now, and that 5.0 would totally spank the 5.0 you're taking out.
