new cam

I know this is a reaccurring topic and very confusing. I am changing out the head of my truck due to an exhaust leak. Doing the valves, port and polish, and milling it down. I'm not sure yet how much to mill it down yet. There has been some contadicting discussions about what cam to get though for the efi speed density. I was just wondering what kind of results to see from just a cam swap. Thanks

I put a 5.0 HO cam in my 94 5.8L and am very happy. Advanced the cam 2* with a FRPP 9 keyway timing set and was even happier. My .02

I second the notion of an HO cam, that has to be the best bang for the buck when it comes to cam selection.

If you mill the heads be aware you will likely need to shim the rockers a similar amount or your valves won't completely close. A stud mount rocker conversion would also take care of it.
