I had an issue like that one time and found that when it missed under a load such as going up the hill, it turned out to be wires. You might check to make sure that none of them were accidentally pulled apart when installing and that they are not losing current. Look at them under the hood at night, if you see any sparks, you need to replace them. I have also been reading on here that most folks have trouble if they don't replace with Motorcraft. A lot of problems with the Bosch wires and plugs.
I can't believe so many people have the same or similar problem!!!!! Seems like the problem may be with the plug wires? I have better things to do at night, but I'll check the plug wires one evening very soon! Does anybody know the difference between Motorcraft plug wires and others? Is it quality, current load, ??????????
MrBandBooster,
I responded to your thread on the 1997-2003 F150 forum. You asked this very same question, and I gave you a detailed explanation. Go check it out.
Anybody know where the cylinder head temp sensor is located on my '02 4.2? Apparently this model year has know coolant sensor, strictly cylinder head and my temp gauge is very erratic as is the running of the truck.
