1995 bronco wont start
I just bought a steal of a 1995 bronco with only 113k miles on it. It started fine until my last stop after getting the title (which was approximately 10 starts). Now it just turns over and wont start. The stupid kid that I bought it from put a remote start, unnecessary loud amplifier and alarm system. The battery seems fine and I tried starting it with the jumper cables on. The remote starter worked before I had problems starting it. The kid said he just replaced the distributor cap a month ago. I had a 1990 bronco and had issues with the starter and solenoid. What should be my first step in trouble shooting? I have never sprayed ether into the ignition system. whats the best way to do that?
Thanks

Can you pull a spark plug out & check for spark and/or wetness(fuel) on plug? I would do that before using starting fluid, if you're going to use ether, just take air filter cover off, remove a/filter, spray into tubes going to throttle body, lay a/filter back in & crank 'er over. Here's a shot in the dark. Has the alarm system malfunctioned, causing it to go into security mode, disabling the ignition system ?

Swapped out the coil. No dice. Ether. No dice. Hit the release valve on the fuel line and we have pressure. Disconnected the alarm system via battery. No dice. Also, before swapping the coil last night I tried getting fire from a plug and got nothing. Are we looking at spark plugs as next trouble shooting step? And I also noticed the old coil was brand new so the previous owner must have had the same problem.

There are no fusible links in the '95 wiring. Everything has a fuse in the under-hood power distro.
If you haven't disconnected the battery for more than ten minutes since the last time it ran, run a KOEO test if only to see what stored Codes exist. (This will help pinpoint the problem areas rather than guessing and repairing/replacing a lot of things that may not need it).
Otherwise, it sounds like you are missing the "heat" portion of the "holy trinity". If there is no output from spark plugs, either the coil has died, the PIP sensor has failed (mounted UNDER to distributor rotor and excitor ring inside the distributor) or the TFI module has failed. Hopefully, you can get Codes from a KOEO test because most folks really don't want to throw that much money (and time) at a new rig. TFI and PIP are both pricey and failure rate is relatively low on both by the time you get to the 90's models so replacement cost is not thrilling.

Thanks guys. It was the damn lead from the stupid alarm to the battery. I'm gonna just rip the entire alarm system out. Why someone would put a 500 dollar alarm and remote starter in a 1995 is beyond me. But, got her fixed. Next repair the back window is stuck in the up position. gonna try to jump the window motor with my fishing light battery
