I have a 2000 ranger that I bought used from a local ford dealer
when I am driveing at nite the buttons for the power windows and the cruse control do not lite up is this normal becuse my other truck a 2003 f150 they do kvn3
heh, yeah, seems kind of dumb, doesn't it? The Rangers don't have light up switches for some reason. I was dissappointed with mine when I bought it, since my stepdad's 98 Explorer has buttons that light up. Not sure what it would take to put some lighted switches in there, but it would sure be nice.
thanks brian the truck is my wifes you think that ford would spend the couple extra $$ to make the buttons lite up sure would make driveing at nite a lot better
I agree. The power window buttons should be lit in all the Rangers that come equipped with them. If Ford can make it that way in my old '93 Sable than they certainly could have done it in our Rangers. IMHO, Ford dropped the ball on that one, plain and simple.
P.S. I believe I read somewhere that the new Rangers ('03 and/or '04?) are now coming with the lighted buttons, but I don't know for sure.
Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner Joe, The switches are exactly the same but I don't know if the wire is there or whats involved in getting the switches off with the air bag there.
