98 expedition not getting read from oxygen sensor

98 expedition not getting read from oxygen sensor

its the second sensor on the 2nd bank. replaced sensor still no reading. any ideas?

Since the new sensor made no difference, you're now stuck tracing the wiring for the problem.

A you sure you replaced the CORRECT sensor? Many new folks get the banks reversed....

Just remember, bank 1 is the side that the front most piston is closest to the front bumper, in the 4.6/5.4's, it's the passenger side.
Also, the rear O2 sensor really only determines if the Cat is working properly, measuring the difference between the front sensor and the rear.
The front sensor will measure the exhaust lean/richness to determine engine running condition.
