I still have to do the front bumper, though I think I will do it in a flat black rather then dipping it. I think the dip would peel since I have to get up on the bumper just to check the oil and service the truck.
Put some black grip tape on the top of the bumper where your stand (will also help keep your feet from sliding off when leaning way in), then dip the rest of the bumper so it matches the grill. Truck looks good!
The ability to peal it off is the reason I used actual wheel paint when I did mine.
Nice, but paint will peel off of chrome too, eventually.
With the dip, at least when it starts to come off, I can peel the whole thing and redo the wheel. When it starts to separate from the wheel and it needs to come off, I doubt the paint would peel off as easily as the dip would.

I just don't wanna have to do a redo every month.

According to Dip My Car, one of the leading providers of the stuff, it should last 2-5 years.

I have painted chrome that has lasted. Sand, self etching primer, than paint. Did the whole front bumper on my 94 I had, and it held up great, even with me standing on the bumper to work under the hood.

That part wasn't considered because those steps weren't included (regarding my post) because (as you already know) the chrome won't allow long term adhesion.
I thought chrome rims had to be de-chromed (if thats even possible) before they could be refinished.
I don't wanna hijack this thread, so I'm gonna start a new one.
