Wheel Finishes

I am thinking about lifting my truck and I need new wheels. I am debating on getting a chrome finished wheel or a super finish similar to American Eagle finishes. I really like the MOTO Metal 951 and the American Eagle 114 series wheels. I am wondering how much maintance is involved in having chrome wheels. I want a good looking wheel with out having to polish them every two weeks. How well does the chrome last in the winter. If any one has any pics that would be great.

I had chrome wheels on my Bronco and lived a block or two from the Atlantic ocean. They eventually rusted. I'll stick with aluminum...

Here's your Moto Metal 951's:

They're easy enough to keep clean for me. It doesn't take a whole lot of cleaning to make them shine. I've had them for about a year now, and the finish is holding up well.

Had aluminum and hated them. They were cheaper, and I figured out why. Got tired of polishing them all the time to keep them looking good. Even sitting out and not driving, they would start turning milky. A friend had the same wheels, and kept his truck garaged. His definitely stayed shinier than mine.

Switched to chrome and loved em. Just wash and give an occasional polish and wax. Even then, no hard rubbing involved. Pics of both in my gallery.

I see you are from Tenn so no worries about ocean salts causing your wheels to pit. Do the roads get salted in the winter? If yes then DO NOT use chrome wheels in the winter. Keep your stock rims and use those. The salt will corrode chrome quick.

Go ahead and get the bling for the warm months and just swap the wheels out when the roads start to get nasty.
