Any idea where I can find the original paint codes on 1956 Ford F-100 for both body and trim paint and how to read it? Nothing I can see in the VIN# or inside the glove box.

The paint code was embossed on the glove box data plate. And as you can see from the charts above, there weren't that many choices. It shouldn't be too difficult to figure out which is yours, even if your plate is missing.

There is no code for trim paint. The only trim option was a two tone paint on the roof and back panel. That color was Colonial White, same as the non-chrome grilles and the rims on stock trucks.
Exactly what I was looking for. Im actually an old lacquer painter from the 60's and have been all set up to do base/clear with a beautiful vented paint booth and respirator system to handle it. But....keep going back to thinking lacquer is much more friendly to work with and much more frendily to the environment.
ok so my vin is F25V6P12246....color is ""P" for "Primer". Stock color appears to be a green base very similar if not identical to the color of the 54 F-100 truck on the left of the photos posted by Abe.

The paint code is listed under 'color'. The 'P" in your vin is the code for the production plant. Without looking I think P is for Phoenix.....
Oh geze, there always has to be an audience when I make a fool of myself. I somehow misunderstood I had to get it from the VIN itself. Another glance and I found the "color" which is "U" (Meadow Green). Thanks for all the help. So......single stage, B/C or laquer? Any thoughts on this?
