Paint expert needed

I'm wondering if anyone knows if there is anyone selling paint matching the original paint used by Ford for the 1976 trucks. I have a 1976 F-250 with the original paint and I'd like to find some matching brushable paint in cans (or bottles) for touch-up purposes. The truck has spent most of its life indoors so I'm hoping that it would be a reasonable match on tiny areas. The original invoice says that it has Wimbledon White and Mecca Gold on it. The rating plate shows codes M & Y. I have a Martin Senour color chart for 1976 Ford trucks which supports this. The 1976 Ford truck shop manual is a bit harder to understand. It agrees that the M code is for Wimbledon White, but calls the Y code for trucks (not vans) yellow orange and does not show Mecca Gold. The truck parts book also uses the yellow orange name for the Y code. Final assembly was in San Jose. I've tried a search of the forum without finding anything that would resolve my question. Any help that anyone could provide to find a source for these paints would be appreciated. Thanks.

O'reilly's at least the store closest to me can make you up a small bottle with brush built in.

I would recommend going to your local auto paint supply house and have them match it in a single stage in a rattle can.
if you use a "brush on" then be sure to "buff it down"....
but that's my .02

Autocolorlibrary has the OE paint chips and codes. They can mix in just about any OE color. They have done well for me on past projects... including my dent.

Auto Color Library - We will match ANY Car Paint Color!

The Ford Sales Name, or promotional name, for color code Y is Mecca Gold. Ford lists it as Yellow Orange in most of the production specifications, and therefore, that is the name used by PPG, etc.

(Fordification)

Beautiful truck, by the way!

there are mail-order outlets (on internet) that custom-mix per paint code, for rattle can or small amounts such as a pint...but when I tried this for an 80s car, the co. I used couldn't get the match right, and not due to the car's paint having faded...I even sent them a broken piece with good paint on it, and they failed to match- they tried; they even re-did it free, but, alas...

I hadn't known about O'reillys 'making you up' a touch-up bottle, I'll have to ask (they're opening up a bunch of those around here)...I would best suggest a local supply house that can use a color tester on your truck...

In most any town with body shops, these shops are supplied with paints and supplies from local automotive paint stores. Look on line for automotive paint stores in your area (SE Louisiana) and anyone of them can match your exact paint and mix up as much or as little as you need.

Best of luck and don't be discouraged by the paint shop not having a huge interested in satisfying your needs, maybe it's just my location but "the" supply house in my area made a single half hearted effort, got the color way wrong, and gave up saying the thing had been repainted by a mad scientist........they took my money though. In the end I did my own research, found the mix code for 1974 limestone green metallic and pastel lime from several brands of paint and went back in there. I'll be danged if the peckerwoods COULD mix it right, I got a sheepish "sorry man, not sure what I was looking at".

Here's another resource that helped with mine.

http://paintref.com/cgi-bin/colorcodedisplay.cgi?color=Pastel%20Lime&tditzler= 2411&rows=50

I saved the bookmark down in the greens but I believe you can start on the page for any year.

Mecca Gold is most likely the FoMoCo "promotional" name for Yellow Orange.
