Yeah and insurance takes a chunk out of it. I bring home usuallu around 650-720 every two weeks. If i work over 80 hours it goes to "comp time" (take off how many hours you work over 80 and get paid your regular hourly pay rate). Sometimes you dont get to use your comp time because we are too busy. Last year alot of guys lost their comp time when we all of the fires around here. Pissed off alot of them.
Just got a call from a co worker I went on some incidens with last year. He is leaving us to go farm for more pay.
I hope we don't have no big wildfire this year. If we do...either a lot are going to get hurt or killed. Hell I'm new only been here for bout two years. I don't know everything..
I was thinking about going to be a smoke jumper. Had the marine reserves on my mind but i don't like how the country is turning and what the gov is doing.
