Speedo fix?

Speedo fix?
I have a 1975 f100 4x4 that the speedometer does not work. I just recently purchased the truck and when I first got it it would move some but was no where near accurate. Any help regarding the fix would be greatly appreciated.

Either a broken center cable or stripped plastic gear in trans case or cable end. Pull it out of the trans case and look at the gears. When you get the cable out of the trans case hook an electric drill to the steel center cable . Spin it left and watch odom. If it has a reading cable is good and plastic drive gear is trans is bad
