99 f350 power problem

guys please help I have a 1999 f350 with the 7.3.the truck starts, runs, drives great. but it has no power unless you are holding it to the floor. from 1/4 to 3/4 there is so little power and acceleration my 1988 302 could out pull it. I've scanned up and down the truck and cannot find ant DTC's. it doesn't smoke and can barely turn the tires, but it runs great. does any one have any ideas what could be wrong? like I said it runs perfect but could not pull and on ramp without it on the floor. there are no codes or any trouble signs to go. please some one help

What did you scan it with?
How's the oil level and when was it last changed?
How's the fuel filter?
I would look for boost leaks, but I'd think you'd see smoke if boost was low.

when mine done that it was the screens in the mixing chamber canister in the fuel tank. ran pretty decent once you got going but, dont pull out in front of anybody. mine was so bad i had to replace my injectors too, but i got some fuel out of a really dirty aux. tank. do a search for the "hutch/harpoon mod".

how many miles on the truck? Is this an "Early 99" or the "Late 99". The L99 had the emblems on the doors vs the E99 on the fender. We need more info, is there any exhaust leaks behind the turbo on the up pipes? Any smoke when its to the floor? Are the injectors original? Have you kept up on Fuel filter changes?

i'm not saying this is your were your problem is, but it was with mine. the plus side to what i'm suggesting though is it don't cost anything to do." yet" iirc. there are several area's to check. as mentioned, there are the screens inside the mixing chamber in the tank. open that canister up to get to them " this is a good time to do the hutch/harpoon mod". then i believe I've heard about a screen in the intake side of the fuel pump to take a look at. then there is the fuel filter in the bowl at the top of the motor. and I've also heard there are check valve/screens at the heads where the fuel line enters the heads coming from the fuel bowl. you may want to try to remove the fuel line at the back side of the fuel pump and blow compressed air back through it to the tank with the fuel cap off to clear away any debris from the screens. this will give you a better idea if that's your problem if the truck runs better, but its not a permanent fix. hopefully this will help.
