No I was not able to check fuel pressure....my connector fory pressure gauge is missing the little st that depresses the schraeder valve. Time to quit lending my tools out! I will get a new one tomorrow when I pick up the front end parts. Results to follow!
Interesting thing happened.....I changed the power steering hose which required me to have both batteries disconnected so I could access everything and take the pump off. Anyway, when I reconnected everything I broke out the phone to record a video of the "stiction" during the cold start......well magically it fired right up and ran as though it had already warmed up. No stiction symptoms at all. The only thing different about that start from any other was that I had the batteries unhooked for a couple hours. Now a day later, same old story, cold start, sounds like two skeletons fighting on a tin roofed house and it feels like it is pulling a house down the road.......until it warms up, then its fine. Any ideas as to what might have reset when power was removed for a while? Some type of relay? Something with the fuel? I'm all ears.
Did you get a gauge , sounds like a few Injectors have bitten the dust,I wouldent run the truck to much , It could also be cam senser, or gloplug what ever the racket would be couldent be all that good, so it runs fine when warmed up to hot start(any problems at hot start? and first cold start runs bad .
Not a single issue on hot start at all. And all the noise and roughness smooths out if you just warm it up for a few minutes before driving. If I just crank up and drive takes me a mile or two to smooth out if i dont have time to warm it up. Once warm it never has an issue.
What weigh of oil, most use a 5w 40 synthetic , have you ran a rev-x I'm not sure this will help at this point ,pretty sure Injectors may need a glo or 2 theres a test in the tech folders to try .besides the buzz test
