Park it or Drive it

Here is my dilemma, I have 2006 F350 6.0 PSD 96,000 miles that has been taking longer and longer to start. This is to the point that the remote start will not start it.(times out) <O</O
At first it was just on cold starts but now it seems to be all the time. Sometimes after it starts it runs just fine and other times it feels like it has no power until it gets warmed up. The other thing it is doing is revving way up before it shifts and when it finally decides to shift it shifts hard.(when cold) Dealer looked at it a month or so back and wouldn’t you know, it started just fine for them and no codes thrown.<O></O>
So with the 5 year warranty expired do I park this thing a wait for my new 2011 F350 6.7 PSD (should arrive in late Aug early Sep) or do you think I should drive it. I just don’t want any expensive repair bills right before my new one arrives.

Thanks in advance

The 1st thing I would do is check for codes and then I would check the ficm voltage. Sounds like a typical ficm failure. Just a guess from this side of the screen. You would also be wise to check your batteries and charging system.

Some people think the warranty starts from the manufacture date rather than the purchase date - that is why I asked.

I'll bet you will identify the issue if you follow 69cj's advice. Good luck and keep us informed!
