Odometer reading

@000 f150 lariat. Isnt the odometer display controlled by the computer? If I buy another cluster wont my mileage be the same reading as my truck, not the donor?

No, the dash has it's own micro processor and data storage.
The PCM only supplies real time update to it from vehichle speed sensing.
The update is not the mileage but signals to drive the dash counters (ring counters), they in turn drive the matrix display you see as mileage..
Almost everything is digital now.
As well, you need dealer service if PATS is involved or your keys will not start the motor because the dash, pats and the PCM become 'married' by code.
This is the THEFT system at it's finest.
Good luck.

2 add, you can swap the processors if you want to swap clusters, but keep your current mileage count.

I'm not sure on this cluster, but just follow the ribbon cable from the readout display.
