Couple of nights ago I started my truck, started right away. Today I wasn't able to start it after cranking and cranking for a while. I was having problems starting a while back before to, but that was because of a bad glow plug relay. I replaced it about 2 months ago along with the fuel filter and everything was fine until today.
No rpms while cranking nd I didnt check voltage. I plugged the block heater on for about 4 hours and the truck started up first crank. It might just be the cheap-o aftermarket relay that I bought on ebay. Ill check that after school.
I had a problem that is very hard to describe but it has been a long time since its happened (knock on wood). It only happened on rainy wet days but after driving through a puddle my truck would just shut down and not start until it felt like it sometimes 5 minutes sometimes 40 minutes. Tried ford service on the phone at times of being stranded but nothing they said ever worked. I'd love to know which dormant gremlin is living in my truck.

Wow. I would guess that you should check and make sure wires or relays on towards the bottom of the engine bay are all intact and place. I'm not much of a mechanic yet, it hasnt even been a year since I owned my truck, let alone its my first truck hahaha but I can turn a wrench and with highschool and a tight budget this site saves me alot of cash. And yea, I seem to be experiencing the same gremlin problem hahaha I wish I could make a trap for it

water/moisture is getting into your CPS connection and shutting the truck down. pull the connections apart and look for any wear and tear. clean up connections and put some electrical sealant around it. Should be fine from now on. To test drive through a big puddle in the rain
Cool thanks man thats a lot more helpful than when the service guys say check to see if any connections are wet. Im like no $&@! I just drove through a puddle in the rain! Anyway ill check tomorrow at work and grab some dielectric grease too.
crank position sensor is on the bottom front passenger side, right?
