Has anyone installed a set of bucket seats and console with shifter in a bump? I'd like to find a set of 2-door buckets (tip forward) and a console with integrated shifter for an AODE/4R70W transmission. The only instance of that kind of setup I could find in a full sized Ford pickup is the 2004 - ???? Lariat but I don't have a lot of hope in finding a set and, if one could be found, the price would probably be way to high for me. Probably $1000s.
Best possibility might be from a Mark VIII even though the Mark VIII has about 9.5" less hip room than a bump. Still, they might be OK. Anyone tried that? Or have another idea?
Depending on what type of bucket seats ya want. Many guys put the mustang buckets in from the 66-68 mustangs. As for the console..many have just fabbed their own. Are you wanting it to go between the seats or sit a little bit more forward? I know Lokar makes many types of automatic floor shifters..not sure for the 4r70w
Something like this would be great, assuming its a 2-door. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi..._%28412272284% That's a 2004 Lariat. Just don't think I'll find that and if I did the price would be in the $1000s.
So, I'm wondering if anyone has done the Mark VIII seats or maybe someone has an alternate idea.
Hmm. I wish I could help ya. I put in the mustang seats myself. As for the lariat..maybe at a junkyard or pick n pull? Never know. The mark viii seats would be interesting. With anything though..you'd have to measure the width to see. For the console why don't ya custom fab one? Put a lokar shifter in then build a wood console and upholster it
I have caddy 60/40 seats cut down to buckets in my 70 f-100. Build my own center console for the middle with 2 two 10's subs in the console. Don't have floor shifter it's on the column. Had another truck with buckets and center console with a 12 sub in it. Had 3 speed on the floor, trick was to get the floor shifter arm to work without hitting anything. Had a hurst shifter but I put a long curved honda 80's shift handle on it to clear the center console. The T handle that came with the hurst shifter was to short.
I think it could be done but you might have to modify the shift level and or handle to clear center console.
If your trying to do something like that I would at import cars the have a similar console. Would most likely have to be modify to work (Box under console to raise it) but some are cable operated to the transmission. If you build your own console I know some B&M shifters are cable operated to the transmission.
At first I did have a high console that went from back to the dash but did not like it. ( 3 piece console) It felt to confining so I lowered the center piece after the sub box and build a dual cup holder. It was a column shift which might make a difference and you may like the feel of a higher console.
Here is an example of what I'am talking about.

If you go to ebay and search for center console you can see others that might work better for your truck.
Go to the Dentside forum and search for a thread in the past two weeks where a guy used a Corbeau bracket to mount newer Bronco seats... I think he was also gonna use the center console.

Thanks for the tip. I subscribed to that thread and ordered a Corbeau catalog. Wasn't aware of Corbeau. Didn't see frames for bumps in their list. Are dents wider?
I'm finding much better deals on seats from private sellers on craigslist than I was hearing from the specialty used seat sellers. Think I'll find something.
The '70 F100 went back to my son with the original bench seat and I picked up a '78 Continental Coupe for my hobby vehicle.
I did buy a set of leather, power, heated seats and console out of a GMC Yukon or something similar. They fit width-wise but the backs were too thick for the '70 F100. They were up against the back of the cab but my feet were too close to the pedals. They'd work well in your Super Cab, I think. They're still up in the attic.

Bucket seats standard equipment in 1965/66 F100/250 Rangers, optional in 1967/72 F100/350's.
1965/66's Rangers were available with an optional console.
Bucket seats, tracks same as 1965/70 Mustang & 1967/70 Cougar (except 1969/70's with high backs).
Center console same as 1964/65 Falcon Sprint.
The bucket seats require brackets that raise and level them, FTE member Bill W has reproduced them.
2004/2014 F150 Lariat/Platinum/King Ranch/Harley Davidson/Limited Super Cab & Super Crew come with 10 way power driver & passenger bucket seats w/a flow thru console w/floor shift.
These features were optional in the Lariat, standard equipment on the others. These trucks are wider than the Bumps, so while the seats will fit, when the console is figured into the equation, may not.
These seats have leather seating surfaces, the rest is vinyl. These seats are heated and cooled...and have air bags.
Left (lower): 1965/72 F100/350 bucket seats / Right (lower): 1965/66 console.
