I'm putting a 4R70W 2WD transmission out of a 2000 F150 into a '70 F100 and need to figure out a floor or console shifter for it.
I also want to put newer seats in the F100 so I'm wondering if any truck with a 4R70W also had a floor or console shifter. Would be nice to find a donor truck with the whole seats, maybe a console, and shifter setup to transplant into the F100. Does anyone know if a setup like that exists?
Learned that the 2004 Lariat had optional captain's chairs, console and console shifter. But, the 2004 got a 4R75E transmission. I would HOPE that the shifter and shift cable for the 4R75E would also work with the earlier 4R70W. Anyone know for sure?
I saw a thread on another forum where a guy used a '04-'08 console mounted shifter in a '97-'03 model. It seems like it was a pretty straight-forward swap too.
