Question Wheel bearing replacement?

Good Morning guys!
I replaced all the tie rods on my truck front end and added new bilstein shocks as well. My wheels still have play in them when moved side to side.
It's a whole heck of alot better, but I still have play in the wheels. The ball joints seem to be fine.
Are there any other ways I can test to make sure it's the wheel bearing? They have 295,000 miles on them!
If I replace them what brand do you guys recommend? Timken? National? Does Ford make their own?

Thanks!

Jack it up and see if they wobble.no ford does not have their own brand.use timken or national if that's what's wrong.may just need cleaned ,repacked, reset. Is the play when driving u are concerened or when grabbing tire? Could be steering box needs adj or drag link is worn...or both.

Hi Fordman67,
Thanks for the reply. Well, it wandered on the Freeway and would follow lines on the road a bit. All tie rods where worn and the drag link arm. I replaced them all and had it aligned. It's much much better and does not wander anymore.
However, it seems when I let go of the wheel it drifts off to the right. It did that too before I replaced all the tie rod ends and the drag link arm.
When I took the front wheels off the drivers side wheels bearing where really loose and the nut was loose. I tightened it down, but I guess I made the mistake of re-checking it without the wheel on!
IT much much better then it was for sure. I just think the wheels still have too much play in them.

after you clean, check, repack front wheel bearings.check tire pressure.then rotate tires front to back. see how it does then.

only the steering box is left if alignment is correct.

I hope some of this helps you to make your truck drive correctly.

Fordman67,
Rotated tires! Truck drifts to right no more! Will be repacking wheel bearing this coming weekend. Anyone use that synthetic grease? Worth the money?

Thank you
