I've never had a tuner before. I used to have a Superchips Cortex in my late 99 but I never really noticed much of a difference with the thing. Sold the truck and the programmer.
Bought a 2003 (truck in my sig) and put the tuner in today. Installation went smoothly, with the exception of the PCM being a pain to remove. Well really the PCM is easy to remove it's just gaining access to the plug. Had to take the splash guard out. Anyway, got the chip installed. I went with the gauge type switcher.
First thing I noticed was DP charged me $18.25 to ship a tiny box priority mail. It would have fit in a flat rate priority box and cost less than $6 bucks. Kinda crappy to spend $600 bucks on a computer chip and then get bent over on shipping. Such is life.
My tunes go like this:
0 - no start
1 - high idle 1200 exhaust port closed
2 - high idle 1200
3 - stock
4 - 60e
5 - 80e
6 - 100 performance
7 - 60 tow
8 - decel
In the 80e and 100 performance tunes there is a HUGE difference in power. Very impressed and scared for my stock transmission at the same time.
60e seemed much more tame but with plenty of pep. I will probably daily drive in this tune. I haven't tried the 60 tow or decel yet.
When I had my DP, I had the 60E (Daily Driver) next to Decel, next to the Tow Tune... but I live in the mountains and I would switch to call upon Decel from either the DD or the TT.

Congrats on the new found power . The shipping charge, may consist of "insurance". If something happens to it or someone wanted it more then you, and the merchandise didnt end up at its location, atleast DP wouldnt be out anything?
Very cool! 60e and 80e are what I play with for DD - good power in both - quicker tip in on 80e from what I can see. I dont think I could run 100 perf without more air - 80e gets pretty hot quick in my setup. Can you stay in it a bit empty with your rig? DP's trans shift adjustments should help take care of your trans to a point. I thought the stock DP tunes shifted a bit firm, but had access to some tweaked tunes that smoothed them out. If you're concerned on the shifts, might be worth the $30 to customize one or two of the tunes.
Got my F6 in on Wed. and installed it yesterday. Everything went well except forgot to put the PCM back to stock with the cheap SC programmer. Told by Jody that once the chip is in, NEVER connect other programmer to the OBD port again! Well that SC does not worth anything anyway so I wouldn't waste my time to re-do the whole thing and try to sell it. The pod mount is cool, like a lot. As a very practical person, I ONLY have 0-no start, 1-stock, 2-60e, 3-60T. 60e is very responsive indeed. I think that's all I really need. One thing I need to get used to is the way the tranny shifts now. with the stock, or the towsafe from the SC programmer, you can barely feel it when it shifts. With either 60e of 60t, it definately shifts "harder". You almost feel a jolt action on your seat when it happens. Is it really a good thing for the tranny? Another thing I noticed is 60e turns the OD on at about the same MPH as the stock. But the last gear much more behind, like 45 or higher not sure.

If you remove the chip and return the PCM back to stock, I'll buy that "cheap" SC programmer from you. There's good programming on that thing and somebody will appreciate it.

Congrats on your new F6 tuner. What a difference, Huh.
I bought a used F5 tuner, from CrewCabTurbo, some time back and have had it installed for about three months. It only has two tunes,60 tow and 80e. It sure woke my truck(Casper) up. Thanks CrewCab.

If you want it, I can let you have it at a low Ebay winning price (~150). Sorry that I have to post it in the open since your profile somehow does not accept PM. If I can sell my AE for 250 (110 less than Riffraff price)Then I'll almost have enough to buy that Infinity. Erwin
