When I bought my truck, it came with an "OLD" Hypertech power programmer 3. It took a dump on me this weekend when I tried to change settings and locked me in the stage 1 setting. I have reset the computer to back to factory settings and will be ordering the DP Turner this week.
This isnt a debate on which turner is best. Based on what I have read, this seems to be one of the favorites with most and I like what I have read.
My question is to the ones that run the DP. I ran the Hypertech in the stage 3 (100 hp) setting mostly, how much of a difference will I notice in the new turner vs. the old one? The new tuner will have the high idle (1100 rpm), stock, 80 hp tow, 80 hp econ and 120 race settings. At least that is my plan.
Remember the "WOW!" feeling you had when you went from stock to the HTprogrammer? Well you will have another "WOW!" Moment when you go from the HT to the DP.
I switched from the old superchip to the DP Tuner last week and there definetaly is a WOW factor! 80econ is my favorite so far and that one blows the doors off the superchip 110hp
^^ what they said... DP 80e will smoke the HT or SC programmer's highest setting. I thought my truck was bad *** with the SC Cortex programmer, now with my DP tunes... no comparison!!
Oh and that 120 race tune... be prepared to smile ear to ear
y'all are making me more excited to get it installed. have you noticed any mpg savings in the 80e tune?
WRONG!!!!! you will probably see a significant drop in mpg's, at least for the first couple of weeks till you can learn to keep your foot off the skinny pedal
I really didn't see any increase, but also did not notice any bad decrease in mileage.
Yea I don't plan on seeing any improvent in mpgs for the first couple weeks lol. Yea the 120 is something else. I'm surprised my transmission loves the tuning it has never shifted so good!!
you got me on the spelling... my fingers sometimes suffer from touretts and it gets me in trouble. especially when i am driving
as far as the mileage, i dont expect much the first few weeks either newihgfvnwegrb, sorry dang fingers again... i guess if i can see alot of power without a decrease in mpg then it is all good!
