Greetings...
I just bought a new truck and I'm new to FTE...now how/where can I tell which type of enging is in my truck?
It is a 79, F-150, 4x4, 3-speed manual + Granny gear.
The title says 6 cyl and VIN decoder shows 300 I-6. I know it is a V-8, but can't tell which type.
The previous owner got it from his father and didn't have it very long. He thought it has a 460, but there are aftermarket 390 stickers on the front fenders. I don't put much stock into either of those.
Any ideas, hints, or points into a direction would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Cheers,
Julius
A picture would tell us more .Its more likely to be a 351m or 400 or even a 302 351 w these were a easy swap .Like I said show a picture and it will be a lot easier to answer your qeustion
Thanks everybody; I'll take a picture and post it next weekend...I'm out of town this week.
I am quite sure it is V-8, it has that look ;-)
Cheers,
Julius
