Truck is running great so far. I'll have to bring it out to the grade that I was tripping the P0299 on to see if it pops up again. Thanks for your help Blade
GOOD TO HEAR All is better
And I am Glad to see that this didnt turn into another one that Had BAD EBP Reading where a New EBP didnt help
On those 2 other Cases we didnt check for exhaust plugage or stuff like that and I think thats where we got off track on those Other Trucks cause they changed EBP and didnt help they still had problems
On the other 2 I think we Jumped the Gun saw bad EBP reading and went straight for the ebp sensor
I dont think you will see that DTC again
Your MPG will go up Now But Also make shure your ECT is getting to 190*
Any ECT under 190* will have Negative affect on MPG
You should be happier with your MPG on the next tank of fuel compared to what its been getting before
Ok ive been following this post and finally got my sct datalogging up and running. I cleaned ebp sensor and tube. I did a real quick test this evening.
690 rpm
ebp-17.63
map- 14.6
2657 rpm
ebp-27.4
map 17.4
Seems as though im getting similiar readings. Should i look at a new sensor as wel?

Well, in my case it did resolve the issue. As long as you've done the diagnostics as I have, and are willing to chance the $80, replace it and see. Got mine from Tousley ford.
I'm going to perform a thorough test this weekend, but my initial values are similar to yours. So if the data collected provides a high enough probability that the ebp sensor is bad, yes I'm willing to chance $80.
Also i gather from this thread that your high idle EBP value was the main factor in purchasing a new sensor correct? Thanks

Getting this code also. Read through all the posts you guys have been putting up and info has been quite helpful. gotta do some tests and see what results i can get. Im also getting unbalanced cylinder codes with it and manifold absolute pressure code. Engine light still hasnt actually turned on though.. Any thoughts.

Well, the only reason I went after the EBP was because of my P0299 code. The truck really wasn't behaving badly and I don't drive it enough to notice MPG issues either. I figured the EBP sensor was a good first step before yanking out the turbo for a cleaning. Not sure if I made it worse while cleaning, but at least now I can rest assured that it's new, numbers are within range, and the tube is clear. I tow a large trailer down to southern California a few times a year and don't need turbo issues while in the middle of nowhere or on an incline. I've hit the turbo hard and heavy since changing out the EBP, and even on the grade that threw the code twice on me, and I'm happy to say it hasn't returned. The real test will be when I tow again.
Not sure if you're referring to the original poster or my hijack. In my case, I've ordered a new EBP sensor from Tousley ford and expect it in any day.
Do you have a part # for EBP sensor? These are my readings so I am thinking I might need to replace mine also. I got a code P0299 also going up a grade with a load.

Looks Like a Bad Sensor
BUT Have you done anything to rule out Actual High EBP??
What Year?????
5C3Z 9J460 A / 1850352C2--------------------------------------EPB Sensor (2005/2006/2007)*
the Sensor Reading at KOEO Looked Good so that's only 1 point towards a Good Sensor
They usualy end up Bad though more Often then Not
Probably 130.00 ebp sensor so whatever if you want to try that or Troubleshoot more
International would be the Second Part# in Above said post and likely cheaper
To relieve Exhaust back pressure you would Loosen the Downpipe at turbo enough to Vent it and Rerun test while Exhaust is Vented check the sensor values at this time
Also Post V-REF value the EBP Sensor uses 5 Volts as well
I edited my post with the year but I guess I didnt do it fast enough and you didnt see it. Sorry about that. It is a 2006. I will go do the vent at the turbo and post back the numbers. Thanks for your help Benny!
