302 engine rebuild

Well I found out yesterday where I will be starting on my 71 f100. Engine bearings and rods are knocking.

I will have the engine rebuild as I would like to keep the original block.

I will be using S and S Machine Shop in Mesa AZ anybody used them?

I went and looked over the shop Yesterday and discussed the rebuild. Looks and sounds like a good shop. We shall see. Mind if I inquire about your rebuild costs?

First off would like to say welcome to the AZ chapter. Secondly sweet looking truck looks very clean for its year. I have personally never heard of that shop as I am in Snowflake Arizona but a piece of advice watch there work watching somebodys work for even a few minutes will tell you a lot about how they will work even if you aren't experienced. I am not all that experienced and I watch them for how they treat equipment and how they work and that has helped me and my dad get from having bad repairs on our trucks. (It does aggravate them a bit having a 17 year old watch them work but that's to bad). I have seen a lot of things I don't like which makes me make sure I don't go to there shop (just about all up here in snowflake only 4 do I trust for sure). That's all I really know on how to help you I sure hope this helps.

someone has been very nice to that truck during it's life! yeah, you don't have to get carried away with a rebuild... if the engine was treated as good as the rest it doesn't need much at all i would guess.
