Hey guys is there a cheaper fix for the pedal mounted throtle position sensor than $200 from the factory? Mine is an 03 6 speed with non adjustable pedal and has started to go bad, I have a hard time making myself pay that much for a pedal sensor. Thanks for any help
i have a 2000 super duty and have replaced my throttle position sensor at least 4 or 5 times. I have gotten mine at NAPA for about 40 dollars. The dealer will tell you that you have to replace the whole pedal assembly but if it is like mine the sensor will come off. Mine is attached with two torx screws and takes about 10 min to replace hope this helps
There are two types of non-adjustable throttle pedal sensors. One has the removeable sensor as described above in Post #2, and the other has the sensor module actually built into the entire pedal assembly (like mine is). IIRC, I purchased mine from Ed when he was still around (a Ford Parts Dealer in Washington State), but would now go to Tousley Ford because they are a sponsor and have the best dealer prices you can find.
Thanks guys, I have the built in one that cant' be changed individually. Fortunately I also have an old friend at a local dealer so she got me the wholesale price that ended up being 160 instead of 200. I hate paying that much for something that should cost about 40 though.
