throttle position sensor

I need a throttle position sensor for my truck. Ford wants over $300 for a pedal assembly they dont sell just the sensor. I thought at one time i found a site on here that sold just the sensor do any of you guys know the site? and also some say the new sensor needs to be calibrated some dont. which is it? my truck is a 2000 f350. Thanks Justin

Some have to have the entire assembly replaced, and others have the sensor which can be replaced individually without replacing teh sensor. I haven;t heard about having to recal the sensors.

Is yours the type with the adjustable pedal assembly, or just a standard fixed position pedal that cannot be adjusted up and down?

Reason I ask is that I had to replace my pedal assembly on my '02 last spring, and it was only about $80 plus S&H from Ed at Y2K Ford Parts... OEM unit, too. The sensor shows to be only $37.02 at Y2K Ford on their website....http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...&siteid=214072

I sent Ed a PM for you... he'll chime in soon to help.

Be very, very careful about using the VIN as the only guideline. That's what I did with Kenny last year and ended up just getting the sensor when I ended up having one of those integral units where I had to replace both the sensor and pedal assembly as an entire unit.

In fact, I still have the in-the-box, brand-new, never-used-or-installed sensor that I would send you for $30 just to get it off my hands (and save you a few $$ as well), but that will only help you if you actually have a "replaceable sensor" system, unlike mine.

Is it the same part for early 99?
When I enter that part number on your site, the screen blinks and the search comes blank.

On my early 99 the IVS switch and the TPS sensor are separate parts and can be replaced individually. If you look real close you can see the part number for the whole assembly on the white sticker.

Do those sensors fix themself?
I did have few "jumps" when my engine chocked on green light acceleration last summer, but it is not happening lately. I drive the truck only occasionally but getting stranded 300 miles from home is not something I look forward.

Check out this PDF. It has some Ford part numbers. I am not endorsing Dorman but posted for info.
