Remote start

What does people think to the remote start that comes with Lariat ultimate package?

What sort of distance does it work from, do the heated seats work with it??

I love mine, wouldn't go through a winter without one. Not sure on the distance, maybe a few hundred feet in the open and works from anywhere in my house if the truck's in the driveway.

Yes it works with the heated seats, at least the '11/'12's do. I'm sure the new system with the MFT works similarly. If the temps are below 32, it'll kick all the heaters/defrost on when the truck warms up, above I think 85 or something (can't remember the magic # there) and it'll do the opposite, kick the AC/cooled seats on.

I have it on my 2011, Its ok. But not great. Works good from the house to the truck when its parked out front.. I wish you could start more then 2wice (i know thats alot but sometimes its needed)
Does not seem to work so well when im at work. Maybe its just the surroundings. Not sure.

If i had to do it over i would probably just get an aftermarket unit instead. Double the cost and another fob on your key chain would be the downfalls. At least to me.

great feature. I've had this feature on a few vehicles before and this one has the most distance/wall penetration I've messed with so far.

Mine acted "funny" a few times too. It would single beep and not work, and then a couple times the truck double beeped and wouldn't start. The problem was intermittent and then the I found out the problem was most likely low voltage. The battery finally had a melt down at just a year old. I replaced it with a much better battery and have never had a problem since. The distance on the remote start is probably only 2-300 ft though.

I was leaving the gym last night I was walking towards my truck which was on the other side of the building I was going around.....the truck was probably 150-200 away and on the other side of the building so it was not in sight......I hit the button for the hell of it and it worked! I was pretty shocked being that the truck was no in line of sight.....I think its an excellent system especially for a factory unit.

I have it on my 2012 Raptor. I was surprised this winter when I started it in my office. I thought what the heck would try which was a bit away from the truck and did not even know it was running until I went outside. Works good for me.

Not sure if this is compatible with the 13's, but here's a bi-directional kit that'll tell you when it's started (for times when you can't see the truck).

Is this the OEM one or an aftermarket? Mine works from about 50' tops and probably less. Good enough to start from within my house.

Mine won't start if its in the detached garage, but I believe that to be more about the construction of the garage and it being a metal building. Seems to work fine in the open from a couple hundred feet.

Mine is factory...... I use it almost every time especially when it's cold. When I get in its warmed up a bit.

Very nice feature..... Love it!

I use mine almost all the time!! Absolutely love the feature...

IMHO...if using it often...the key fob battery takes a hit. I think my battery is on the low side already. At least in comparison to other vehicle key fobs.

Worth every penny!!
